Guide to Doberman Genetic Testing and Uploading Results
This collaboration with "Doberman Planet" provides a comprehensive guide to genetic testing for Dobermans and an easy video to show how simple uploading your results to DDP can be!
Epigenetics
The DDP and it's research partners are looking at more than genes. We are VERY interested in epigenetics. Watch these videos to get a basic understanding of epigenetics and we think you'll understand why we think it's not all about simply genes and the diversity of those genes. We think it may be more complicated than that. Watch and see why.
New Technologies -- Gene Therapy and Gene Editing
As science rapidly progresses, you'll hear more about gene THERAPY and gene EDITING. Both of these technologies address genetic disease at the DNA level but are quite different. GENE THERAPY (or to the researchers, "gene augmentation") is much different than gene editing. Gene therapy transfers a NEW gene into cells to supplement an defective gene. Gene therapy doesn't remove or change the defective gene. GENE EDITING corrects/repairs defective DNA where it is.
What is Gene EDITING and how does it work? What are the positives and negatives? Here is a quick peek.
